Grulla Project
The Grulla Property consists of 92 mineral claims, covering approximately 1900 acres, located 32 miles north of Ely, Nevada. Subject to net smelter returns royalties, Columbus Gold controls a 100% interest in the property.
The property covers sandstones and siltstones of the Chainman Formation overlying Joana Limestone. The Pilot Formation is certain to be present beneath the Joana, but is covered with shallow talus in the project area.
Silicification (jasperoid) is intermittently exposed for about 6,000 feet at Grulla, and is thought to be controlled along the contact of the Joana Limestone with the overlying limy siltstones of the Chainman Formation. A few preliminary samples indicate the silicified rock is highly anomalous in arsenic and antimony, with the best gold value being 3.1 g/t, from select sampling of one area of the jasperoid. The geochemical suite and alteration are typical of Carlin-type gold deposits elsewhere in Nevada.
Four or five old drill holes are present near the southern end of the belt of silicification, however, it is not known when the holes were drilled, nor who drilled them.
A geologic mapping program, with extensive geochemical sampling, is ongoing at Grulla. A CSAMT survey followed by 10,800 ft of drilling is planned.
