White Horse North Property

The White Horse North property is located approximately 74 km (46 miles) south of Wendover, Nevada and is 100% controlled by Columbus Gold subject to underlying royalties.

Columbus Gold is seeking a partner to advance exploration at the White Horse North Property. The project requires additional detailed mapping and geophysics, and if applicable, drilling.

The project area is underlain by: Devonian Guillmette Formation, Mississippian Joana Limestone and Chainman Shale, Pennsylvanian Ely Limestone, Permian age carbonate and sandy strata. The Mississippian Pilot Shale was mapped historically but has not been documented in more recent published work or in mapping commissioned by Columbus. Since the Pilot Shale is an important host rock, additional study is necessary to resolve the discrepancy between the two interpretations.

The sediments generally strike to the northeast and dip moderately to the southeast although early folding and later faulting has locally caused considerable variation in this general attitude. The major structures (and plumbing system for hydrothermal system) trend NNW with en echelon WNW offsets. Alteration consisting primarily of episodic silicification, bleaching and iron-staining occur at the top of the Guilmette, well into the Chainman and, locally, into the Joana along these NNW structures. This alteration pattern has a strike length in excess of 5,180 m (17,000 ft). Modest to strong arsenic, antimony, mercury and weak to moderate gold anomalies occur locally along this trend. The best alteration and mineralization located to date occurs at the intersection of the NNW and WNW trending structures near the center of the property. Gold values as high as 536 and 800 ppb are found in this area.

The sediments are locally intruded by well-altered quartz latite and weakly altered andesite dikes. The latite dikes are thought be penecontemporaneous with the hydrothermal event(s). The Jurassic age White Horse Pluton is exposed in the southern portion of the claim block.

Noranda performed mapping and sampling at White Horse North in the early 1980's and drilled at least 10 holes however no data is available. Columbus Gold acquired the property in 2007 and has mapped and sampled the surface exposures.

The White Horse North claim block covers a large hydrothermal system of which only a small portion has been drill tested (with unknown results). The central zone, where some of the 1980's drilling occurred requires re-evaluation with additional drilling. Several additional gold anomalies associated with arsenic, antimony and mercury anomalies are untested. Favorable host rocks of the Pilot Shale may occur, at depth, along the structural system and may prove to be the primary host horizon.
